Given the heat, it is much better to drag yourself out of bed and get their before it opens at 8am. It was scorching hot when we where there so all the historic outdoor sites closed by 3pm and did not reopen. There are a few things to note when you plan your visit. After you are on the plateau it spreads out and you can see and take some amazing photos.

Be patient and the reward of seeing the Citadel is worth all the lines. Large tour groups are everywhere and can unfortunately clog up some of the prime photo spots from time to time.

I think I heard almost every language being spoken. People from all over the globe visit here. There was a line to get entry tickets, a line to get in entry gate, a line to go up to main area and line to get down to exit. Expect long lines unless you arrive early.
